I Tried 10 Pairs of Leggings for Maternity So You Don't Have To
Since this pregnancy forced me to wear pants (I was pregnant mostly spring and summer with Wyatt), I was on the hunt for comfortable and quality pants. You can read my blog post rating maternity jeans here, and today I am talking about the best and worst maternity leggings after trying 10 pairs!
Check out my “The Best & Worst Maternity Jeans + Jeggings (I tried 9 pairs!)” blog if you haven’t already.

Blanqi
EVERYDAY™MATERNITY BELLY SUPPORT LEGGINGS
I do not know what the fuss is all about with these! I bought them first because several people raved about them. They were SO. TIGHT. I even bought a pair a size up. They were borderline painful to wiggle on.
1/10 only because the quality seemed good despite them being impossible to get on.
That being said, I bought a pair of resale Blanqi maternity jeans and although they ended up being a size too small, they seemed really soft and stretchy and I recommend trying those! I included them in my maternity jeans blog post.
Motherhood Maternity
Performance Secret Fit Belly Cropped Maternity Leggings
Everything I have bought from Motherhood Maternity has been garbage (sorry). Including these leggings. The material is cheap. The only saving grace is the fact that the belly is soooo stretchy, I might wear them when I’m desperate toward the end.

Runners Up & Worth a Try
Gap
Maternity Every Day Cotton Legging
These were very nice. I liked that they were more of a cotton-y fabric than athletic spandex. The length was perfect. I recommend ordering in your normal size. I had already found a couple others I liked before these arrived but these are my first runner up and definitely worth a try!
9/10 Don’t really have any complaints at all except they were late to the party so they didn’t make the winners circle.

Offline the Hugger Highwaisted Legging
These are actually not technically maternity leggings but the super high waist made me think they might work. Which they would, probably for most of pregnancy. I did size up for the belly band area but they were still fitted in the legs. These leggings are “buttery soft” and have side pockets for your cell phone which I typically love but these were just more of an athletic style than what I was looking for.
9/10 Great leggings if you are looking for an athletic style.

The Ultimate Before, During and After Legging
I was testing all these leggings in the middle of my second trimester and these were already too tight in the belly for my liking. The length was also too long for me. I bought my normal size. The fabric was nice, however. They might be good for first and early second trimester but I wouldn’t recommend them past that.
5/10 Belly area too tight and wouldn’t get me through most of my pregnancy.

I loved the idea of these because I felt that the ribbing style meant these could be dressed up or dressed down. The fabric is nice. The photos are a little misleading because they show a high waisted belly band but they were not that high waisted for me, making them cut off in an uncomfortable spot on my belly.
Again, these would be better for first trimester or early second trimester. Maybe even not maternity at all.
6/10 I really wanted to love them! The fit just wasn’t quite right to get me through the majority of my pregnancy.
Walmart
Time + Tru Maternity Leggings with Full Panel
Cannot beat the price for a two pack of these. I wish they had a size below small because they probably would have been in my top, but they are sliiiightly lose on my legs. Super comfortable! I wear them around the house a lot. If they fit you well, you could wear the navy or black with a tunic blouse or sweater. I just feel that since they aren’t totally fitted on me, they make an outfit a little more “sloppy” so I keep them at home. You should definitely get yourself a two pack of these bad boys. For less than $12 they are absolutely worth a try.
8.5/10 Nice quality and comfort for the price, but don’t fit me quite well enough to be more than cozy at-home leggings.
Lululemon
These were one of the most recommended leggings for pregnancy although they are not maternity. Everyone recommended to size up. I went up two sizes because even one size up seemed like the belly would get tight a little too fast. Thankfully the legs are still fitted despite going up two sizes. These are “buttery soft” and an athletic style. Stretchy and comfortable. I had to get them hemmed because they were too long and it’s really nice that Lululemon hems for free.
Unfortunately though, these aren’t my favorite. The belly band doesn’t go up high enough for my liking in general, and the last time I wore them (around 31 weeks) they kept rolling down. They worked well for the first almost 8 months, though.
8.5/10 I like that I should be able to still wear them after pregnancy.

Ultra Soft Before, During and After Maternity Legging
LOVE THESE! I’m wearing them as I write this, actually. They truly are ultra soft. A different fabric than anything else I’ve tried. I wear them with tunic blouses and sweaters because the fabric isn’t too casual. I like that they fold down so I can wear them after pregnancy. I imagine that these will be the leggings I bring to wear home from the hospital after delivery. So stretchy and comfy and wort the money.
9.5/10 Just because they are a tad lose behind my knees
Beyond Yoga
Spacedye Love the Bump Midi Maternity Legging
I actually had never even heard of this brand until a follower recommended them and I’m so glad she did. These are the perfect athletic style maternity legging. They are compression on the bottom but the belly band is almost endlessly stretchy. The length is perfect for me. The color is heathered, making them a little bit different. Go get you some!
10/10!
After about 19 months of pregnancy, two babies, and lots of trial and error along the way, these are my 9 pregnancy must-haves.
