Hi y’all, I’m Val, owner of The Charleston Home.

I moved to Charleston in 2011 after spending a good nine years dreaming up a way to move here. Charleston has always spoken to my soul, and still makes my heart pitter-patter, 10 years later. I started my local-focused Charleston home and lifestyle Instagram account in September 2017 and started a more long form version, The Charleston Home Blog in November 2018.

You’ll find lots of features of local Charleston spots, plus home projects we are working on in our fixer upper, along with peeks of my life at home with my husband and our son Wyatt and daughter Willa. I’m always sharing whatever I am loving at the moment and I’m taking you along for the ride!

By day, I sell Charleston real estate full time, and I own an online Charleston Travel Guide Shop, so I am literally living my absolute dream, every single day. My life is busy and my heart is full. I hope you will follow along!
