Coffee Tables - Safe for Baby on the Move
Ah yes. I am in the season of life where pretty much everything I do and buy and think about I must consider my child first (or is this going to be the rest of my life?? *panicked face*)
My husband built me a beautiful coffee table but I ruined it by painting it so I’ve been on the lookout for something else. Then I realized Wyatt is just a couple months away from being on the move so I decided I needed a soft-sided coffee table anyway. You’ve heard those stories about kids whacking their heads on the sharp corners of a coffee table (and really, anything else at all, but I can only baby-proof so much at one time). I’d love to eliminate at least one potential trip to the emergency room so I figured this was a perfect excuse to buy something new.
Personally, I am looking for something that has a bit of storage, and can double as an ottoman. Here are some that came up in my search — all different price ranges, and a few local (to Charleston) options, too!
Tufted all over, this looks safe AF for a baby learning how to get around. There are 3 other colors and it has a ton of good reviews!
Rattan is very on trend lately. This one has storage and my Juliska tray would look perfect on it.
Love everything about this vegan leather one except it doesn’t have any storage. Leather (“leather”) is so versatile and matches with almost any style.
This one is so fun!! A bit out of my own comfort zone and again, it doesn’t have storage, but I had to include it because I think it’s fabulous regardless.
I love that the tray portion can be moved over the ottoman, or even completely off. The only thing I might do differently with this one is paint the wood piece because it would clash with all the other wood in my living room. And yes there are still corners on this but I could just put that piece away for a year or two or use it as a plant stand somewhere else.
Rattan, soft, storage, doubles as an ottoman . . . this one checks all the boxes. I would get two of these because they are on the smaller side. This would match perfectly in my living room because I have neutral pieces and black accents.
This is one of the bigger coffee tables I’ve liked, which offers lots of storage underneath and enough room to kick your feet up on top. Neutral color to go with almost any decor.
