How I Got My Clients a Million Dollar Home That Wasn't Even for Sale

Take it from me: just because something is not “For Sale”, doesn’t mean it’s not for sale, y’all. When my clients are looking for a special new home, I’m on a mission.

I met my sweet clients A & T in March when they called on a For Sale sign on my team’s listing in Wagener Terrace downtown. They told me a little about themselves: that they’re serious buyers because they have a baby due in July but they’ve been looking for awhile and hadn’t found the right home yet. They also mentioned that the lot was most important to them— a nice view would be ideal. Challenge accepted! I wasn’t seeing anything special enough in MLS so I started reaching out to my networks to find pocket listings or something coming to the market soon.

I connected with an agent that had a new build under construction with a marsh view and I took my clients to see it the next day. The builder of that property primarily builds luxury homes South of Broad and on Kiawah, so you can imagine how gorgeous the property was. Mahogany doors, Wolf appliances, Victoria + Albert tubs, etc. Also, the builder was planning on putting in an infinity pool too. Yes— it was as incredible as it sounds.

We were chatting in the backyard where the pool was going to be and my clients admired another incredible-looking home two doors down. We learned that was the builder’s personal home. Construction was complete and the pool installed, plus this one had an even better view….

My clients went home to discuss if they wanted to move forward with the new construction property we just saw and ultimately decided against it.

So I thought to myself: maybe the builder might be interested in selling his place. He can always go build himself another one, right? ;)

Worst case scenario he simply says no.

It was worth a shot, and I took it.

And good thing I did, because he said he’d consider it.

I brought my clients there within a couple days, and they fell in love. Can you see why?

Long story short: less than two months later and this home was all theirs.

Just in time to settle in before their baby boy arrived.

One of the best compliments I’ve received in this business was when A & T said to me “You know, we’ve been looking around for awhile now. We’ve seen quite a few houses in the past few months, but as soon as we met you, you showed us two amazing houses right off the bat.” And then one of those became their new home.

What an honor to hear that, and what an honor to find this precious family an extraordinary new home to raise their little family in.

All because I thought out-of-the-box, took a chance, and asked a question.

And I would do the same for you!

I’m not your average real estate agent. I pride myself on that. I work really hard for all my clients. I get creative. I’m not pushy. I’m not sales-y. I love my job and I believe it shows.

Shoot me a message if you’re in the market for a new home and/or need to sell the one you’re in. I would love so much to help you too!
